Located in the heart of Philadelphia, our busy, growing, fee-for-service cognitive-behavioral specialty practice is dedicated to providing expert, compassionate treatment for anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and related disorders. With our state-of-the-art cognitive-behavioral therapies, we aim to help patients break free from these conditions and maintain their well-being over time.

Our center serves a sophisticated clientele, including professionals, college students, teenagers, and their families. Offering both in-person sessions at our Center City, Philadelphia office, and telehealth services to individuals throughout Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and other states, our work environment offers flexibility, including the option to work remotely on most days and in our Philadelphia office one or two days a week.

CBT Therapist / Psychologist Job Description:

Are you a passionate CBT therapist or psychologist eager to make a difference in the Philadelphia area? Our dedicated and growing team of providers offers cognitive-behavioral, exposure-based, acceptance-based, and other evidence-based therapies to adults, teens, and children, depending on your preferences. This position provides opportunities to help individuals and families facing various anxiety disorders and related challenges, with common presentations including OCD, social and performance anxieties, panic, generalized anxiety, trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, phobias, PTSD, and depression.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual therapy sessions using cognitive-behavioral therapies to support individuals in the Philadelphia area and throughout Pennsylvania.
  • Address a wide range of anxiety and related disorders, including OCD, social anxiety, panic, generalized anxiety, trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, phobias, PTSD, plus comorbid conditions such as depression, insomnia, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder with empirically-supported treatments.
  • Enjoy collaborations with our diverse and dedicated team that you’ll love being a part of, all while providing the best possible care to our clients in the Philadelphia region.
  • Enjoy scheduling flexibility, with the option to provide services remotely most days and work in our Philadelphia office one or two days a week.
  • Build and manage your caseload, aiming for at least 16 patient hours per week and having the option to see many more patients if desired.
  • Engage in comprehensive training and supervision, including weekly supervision sessions, case conferences, and participation in team meetings with experts in CBT and anxiety disorders.
  • Attend regular team meetings to foster a collegial and supportive work environment.
  • Participate in scholarship and education opportunities, including attending events, giving talks or workshops to the community or professionals, and possibly participating in professional conferences.

      Requirements:

      • Diligence, agreeableness, flexibility, and good teamwork skills.
      • Licensed as Psychologist, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Pennsylvania. Candidates who are close to obtaining a license (e.g., have taken exams or are preparing to take exams soon) will be considered for a job. Similarly, out-of-state licensees applying for PA license while working under temporary permit will be considered. 
      • If candidate is a psychologist, PsyPACT passport (allowing therapist to work with patients from NJ, DE, and other states) or willingness to apply for one in near future.
      • Strong training in and an enthusiasm for cognitive-behavioral and exposure-based therapies.
      • Training and experience treating anxiety and depressive disorders using cognitive-behavioral and exposure based interventions including with OCD, social anxiety, panic, generalized anxiety, and ideally other anxiety disorders. 
      • Familiarity with basic psychodiagnostic interviewing and assessment. Specifically, we look for the ability to administer self-report and interview-administered symptom.
      • Investment in contributing to and helping build the group practice in some way (whether through blog contributions, speaking engagements, community meetings, or other).

      Other Desirable Qualifications for CBT Therapist Job (Ideal But Not Required to Apply):

      • Additional evidence-based therapy training (such as in DBT, ACT, mindfulness based interventions, etc.).
      • Experience with HRT, COMB or other cognitive-behavioral therapies for compulsive picking and pulling
      • Experience treating teens.
      • Experience organizing and leading cognitive-behavioral groups.
      • Supervision experience.
      • Previous experience in a private practice setting.
