2024-2025 Postdoctoral Fellowship in CBT for Anxiety Disorders at the Center for Anxiety, OCD, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT psychologist working with anxiety disorders, OCD, and PTSD

The Center for Anxiety, OCD, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a premier fee-for-service cognitive-behavioral specialty practice based in Philadelphia and offering telehealth services throughout PA, NJ, and NY, is delighted to offer a Postdoctoral Fellowship for the 2024-2025 cycle. Focused on providing services that combine evidence-based intervention with compassionate care, we aim to help patients of all ages break free from the grips of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and related disorders and maintain their well-being over time.

This fellowship is ideal for recent graduates from APA-accredited psychology programs who have a strong grounding in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), exposure-based therapies, and third-generation approaches for anxiety-related disorders and wish to further specialize in these areas. Fellows will work closely with a sophisticated clientele, including professionals, college students, teenagers, and families, delivering both in-person and telehealth services.

Fellow Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual therapy sessions with adults and teens (and optionally children) for a range of anxiety-related conditions. Common presentations include OCD, social anxiety, panic, generalized anxiety, trichotillomania, excoriation disorder, phobias, and PTSD.
  • Address co-occurring problems like depression, insomnia, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder, using empirically-supported treatments.
  • Enjoy collaborations with our diverse and dedicated team that you’ll love being a part of, all while providing the best possible care to our clients in the Philadelphia region.
  • Enjoy scheduling flexibility, with predominantly remote work and the option for minimal in-office days.
  • Engage in comprehensive training and supervision, including weekly supervision sessions, case conferences, and participation in team meetings with experts in CBT and anxiety disorders.
  • Participate in enriching scholarship and education opportunities that are tailored to your interests, including attending events, giving talks or workshops to the community or professionals, and possibly participating in professional conferences.

Fellowship Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation. Postdoctoral fellows may have the potential to earn over $70,000 if seeing an average of 25 patient hours per week, with higher earnings possible.
  • Mentorship from specialists, including board certified cognitive and behavioral psychologist: Expand your expertise and potentially grow into roles of greater responsibility. Guidance for CBT certification by A-CBT or ABPP may be available.
  • Professional Development: Engage in a vibrant community, gain training in ERP, CBT, CT-SAD, CT-OCD, CBT-BDD, I-CBT, Panic Control Treatment, ComB/HRT, CBT-I, PE, CPT, DBT, ACT, SPACE, and more.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy the flexibility of remote and in-person work, with a supportive team environment and minimal paperwork, allowing more focus on clinical care.
  • Opportunities for innovative care delivery models, including intensive outpatient programs and potential development of group therapy offerings.
  • A wonderful and diverse patient population, providing a broad clinical experience across various demographics and a wide range of anxiety-related conditions.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an APA-accredited doctoral program in psychology.
  • Strong foundation in cognitive-behavioral and exposure-based therapies for anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, and related disorders.
  • Demonstrated supervised experience (preferably two or more years of practicum experiences) treating anxiety and depressive disorders with cognitive-behavioral and exposure-based interventions.
  • Commitment to contributing to the growth of our practice.

Post-Fellowship Opportunities:

  • Exceptional fellows may be eligible to continue as staff psychologists, integrating into our team with opportunities for long-term career development.

Application Process:

  • Interested CBT psychologists or CBT psychologists in training should email Dr. Daniel Chazin, PhD, ABPP, at [email protected] with a CV/resume, a cover letter detailing how you found us and your fit with our practice, 3 professional letters of recommendation, and an unofficial academic transcript (showing coursework related to CBT/ERP, other cognitive and behavioral therapies like ACT or DBT, and/or anxiety-related disorders).
